Survey and Land Records

The Assistant Director is District Officer in this department. To Inspector of survey are acting under the control of Assistant Director and Deputy Inspector of Survey is acting under the control of Inspector of survey each in eight Taluks.

In Ramanathapuram District 400 Revenue Villages have been formed in eight Taluks. In this District in each taluk survey section is functioning under the inspection of Taluk Deputy Survey. The functions of Taluk Deputy Inspector of Surveyor are as follows.

Patta Transfer

The Petition received from the petitioners regarding to transfer the patta processed by the Zonal Deputy Tahsildars in respect of full fields and patta issued. In respect of subdivision pattas are issued by the Taluk Tahsildars.

Field Line

The measurement of field lines is done by the Firka Surveyors in the case of dispute between pattathars. If the pattathars apply for the measurement of field lines for clarification the Firka Surveyor will measure the lines in the presence of pattathars.

Eviction of Encroachment

The eviction of encroachment is done by the competent authority after the measurement by the Firka Surveyors if the encroachment is joined in Panchayat Municipality and in Government Poramboke lands.

Land Assignment / House site assignment

As per the government order to issue the land Assignment and house site patta for poverty formers. During issue the patta subdivision work processed by surveyor.

Land Accusation

When the mass number of land wanted to government, surveyor acquired land by land accusation act as well as survey and boundaries act.
